Album Review: A better Time by Davido

 Davido’s a better time had a lot of controversial reviews even before the release of the album, but one thing that lingered on my mind was did it actually come at a better time.

Perhaps one of the things we can thank the lockdown season for, was the high entertainment flow, also thanks to our entertainers would leveraged on this to dish out unending entertainment to fans, for we were not short of good music, as there were a lot of song releases this year.

Davido’s A Better Time album was released also, but before he release date, there was so much talk about the album, in the negative and positive light, a lot of people had something to say about it, probably from a coin toss.

The album came out, and the negative reviews were more than the positives. I knew I quickly had to listen to the album to get my own perspective, with the hope that I wasn’t going to waste my data mb.

From the entire album, I ended up downloading, 9 songs. I already had Fem on my playlist, so 10 in total which is huge for me to download from an album in recent times. No shades, *did you just say, none taken?* then we’re good.

Did I expect this, with all of the speculations about the album? I would say nah, my expectation was surpassed. I loved the features with Bella Shmurda, Nicki Minaj, Tiwa Savage, and Lil Baby, they all gave amazing performances.

Songs; Very Special, Fem, and something fishy are songs that sends different thrills to your ear lobes when you listen to them. I would love to hear a remix with 9ice feature on “Very Special”, it would be the icing on the cake.

Technically:

Overall, I would rate the Album an 7/10.

The instrumental accompaniments were all in sequence, the lyrics might have been powerful but they flowed with the beats, and it has very catch melody all through the songs on the album as expected from Davido.

At the end of the day, not only did the album come at a better time but it also gave a whole lot of people a better time than they had too.

It is this safe to say it’s a good album, and till next time, be Fem! while you vibe.
